The coach of the United States, Jurgen Klismann, released his list of 23 players for the World Cup Brazil 2014. The Technician did not convene the veteran Landon Donovan (32 years , 156 caps). This decision deprives the attacker of a fourth participation in the finals after the editions of 2002, 2006 and 2010. He is the best scorer in the selection with 57 achievements.

Klinsmann preferred Chris Wondolowski, San Jose striker, listed alongside the expected Jozy Altidore (Sunderland), Clint Dempsey (Seattle) and Aron Johannsson (AZ Alkmaar).

Note also the presence in the list of promising young and 18 year-old hope of Bayern Munich, Julian Green, son of an American soldier who grew up in Germany.

The United States will face in Group G of the 2014 World Cup, Portugal , Germany and Ghana.
