Neymar wants only one thing: winning the World Cup! That’s what he said Wednesday at a press conference before the kick-off match of the 2014 World Cup between Brazil and Croatia.

“I do not want to be the best player in the World, I just want to win it,” he assured.

While recognizing that the World Cup is a high-level competition, Neymar asks supporters and fans of the Selecao lot of patience and 100%support.

“I recommend a lot of patience from supporters, because there will be tough games. This is the World Cup and we are preparing to avoid mistakes during the competition. We expect a lot of fans who will be our 12th man. If they are 100% in every game, Brazil will be difficult to beat,” said the FC Barcelona striker.

Who will be the star of the competition? Neymar thinks it would be between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

“There are a lot of great players. Hard to say who will be the star. I like Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. One of the two may be the star of this World Cup.”

If he does not want to be the star, his teammates think he does actually mean his words. Interviewed about the World Cup, Thiago Silva sent a message to Neymar. “Our strength has always been the quality of our collective, but Neymar is certainly a one that will lead us to triumph. Like the whole team, he is very motivated and ready to make a great World Cup. He will be the genius of the World. Favorites? I think it is Germany, Argentina and Spain. Italy and Uruguay may surprise. But we dream every day to win this trophy.”
