Second session in the men’s singles at Wimbledon. Stanislas Wawrinka qualified Monday for the second round of Wimbledon after his victory over Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan (45th ATP), 6/3, 6/3, 6/4.

This is a first for the Swiss (World No. 3) since 2009. He will try to join the table of the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam in London against Spaniard Feliciano Lopez. The 25th player in the world managed to defeat the American (11th player in the world) in 5 sets 6/7 [8-11] 7/6 [8-6], 7/6 [7-3], 7/5.

Kei Nishikori of Japan, seeded No. 10 also qualified for the second round at the expense of Italian Simone Bolelli, 3/6, 6/3, 4/6, 7/6 [7-4] , 6/4. For his first knockout round at Wimbledon, Kei Nishikitori crosses the racket against the Canadian Milos Raonic. The seeded No. 8 winner of Polish Lukasz Kubot, has conceded no set along the way.
