athletics MONTREUIL MEETING: TYSON GAY WINS THE 100M

Tyson Gay was in his second output on Monday, since his return from suspension for doping an anabolic steroid. The second fastest man in the world of the distance ( 9” 69 behind Usain Bolt) was in the starting block in Montreuil for the 100m race of the meeting of the town of Seine-Saint-Denis.

Under a light rain, he dominates the competition with a time of 10” 04 and a headwind (-0.5 m / s). He beat the second best performer of the year, the Trinidadian Richard Thompson (10” 16) and the Norwegian Jaysuma Saidy-Ndure (10” 23).

“I feel good, and I was even in better shape than Lausanne, but with the rain it was not easy,” said Tyson Gay who had yet run under 10 seconds at the meeting in Lausanne (synonymous with the diamond league berth). “It was nice to come here, and I am touched by the reception of spectators, entrusted the triple world champion (100 m, 200 m and 4 × 100 m in Osaka in 2007). I feel more responsibility, vis-à-vis my fans and my sponsors. It’s really nice to come here in a friendly meeting in contact with the public. I really enjoy and I’m on the right path. Now I’m going back to training and we’ll see”
