Jordan Ayew is going to evolve in Lorient under Sylvain Ripoll’s orders, former assistant of Christian Gourcuff. During an interview granted to The Team, the new coach of Merlus explains his choice: “Jordan (Ayew, ndlr) is a player with great potential, a young player who has the future in front of him, but has in spite of his youth already certain real-life experience. And he was requested enough. For the fact that the club have been able to bring him is certainly a sign of ambition. But it corresponds also to a real need to strengthen the club, because we lost major players. This is the way we remain competitive. “Lorient is the ideal club so that the young brother of André Ayew can show up his talent.”
To note that the transfer of Jordan Ayew and Mathieu Valbuena brought back to Marseille Olympic a sum of 12M€. This compensates the spending made in the recruitment of Michy Batshuayi and Romain Alessandrini.
