Africa Liverpool: Knee-down gesture, Tribute to George Floy

For a few days, the whole planet has been denouncing the death of the American George Floyd. This Monday at training, Liverpool players put a knee down.

Like Achraf Hakimi, Marcus Thuram or Sancho in Bundesliga, denunciation messages have been spreading from all sides. Before their training session of the day, Liverpool club also paid tribute to George Floyd.

In the middle of the stadium, all the players put a knee to the ground. We can see the Africans Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita or Jöel Matip.

The knee-down gesture was popularized by Colin Kapernick, an American football player who refused to sing the American anthem. It was to protest against police violence in 2016.
