Africa Samuel Afum: The former forward should have gone to Salah’s level

The former Ghana striker, Godwin Attram has stated that Samuel Afum should have gone to higher level in his football career. The former Smouha and Wadi Degla forward should have gone as far as the Egypt’s Mohamed Salah according to him.

Afum joined Smouha at the beginning of his career with Smouha FC in summer July 2010 where he spent three years.

Following his Smouha spell, the 29-year-old went to Switzerland where he played for Young Boys and NE Xamax.

“I sit down here and cry that Mohamed Salah was able to make it to the top and not Samuel Afum,” Attram told Ghanaweb.com.

“I left the boy and I went to Saudi Arabia and he went to Switerzland. Whenever he’s on holidays he comes to me alright .  And I say, Affum have you trained? But he would say, I have trained already.

“Till today whenever I see Mohamed Salah, Terek and Imani, I ask how can they be on top and not Samuel Afum?”

Afum later on returned to the Egyptian Premier League through Wadi Degla in summer 2016. But his spell didn’t last long as he left after one season.

“Those times when you see Afum, I showed him the way but when I left you see, he fell off.”

“In football, its always good you have people who motivate you and advice you. I can do it alone because I have a strong mentality but others cannot do it alone,” he added.
