Cameroon Christian Bassogog pleads for 2021 AFCON postponement

Cameroonian forward Christian Bassogog urges Confederation of African Football to postpone 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. For the country of Samuel Eto’o to welcome an enjoyable competition as fans are used to.

Current striker of Henan Jianye (Chinese Super League) joined players the likes of Edouard Mendy and Ahmed Musa who also urges CAF to reschedule the best of African competitions.

Talking to Kick442.com, the 2017 AFCON winner said human lives should be prioritized.

“I believe it is very important to watch over the lives of people,” he said.

Later on, the 24-year-old winger pleads for a postponement of 2021 AFCON. Saying that he would be happy if CAF make such a decision.

“If CAF in collaboration with the government of Cameroon can postpone the competition, to give us a chance of hosting an enjoyable competition for all, with people free to celebrate football, I will be glad to have that.” he added.

It’s worth mentionning that two times AFCON winning coach Herve Renard also demands the postponement of the tournament.
