Equatorial Guinea head coach, Sebastien Migné said 2021 AFCON should be played in winter. At the beginning of the year, so from January to February as scheduled by CAF.

Coronavirus outbreak is jeopardising the holding of the next African Cup of Nations in January. If Tanzania for example resumes it Premier League following the going down of the sanitary crisis, there are still countries submerged by the deadly virus.

With regards to the current situation, it is almost impossible to organize the competition in January. Even players of the host country (Cameroon) such as Christian Bassogog, asked Confedration of African Football (CAF) to reschedule the tournament.

Meanwhile,there are voices sustaining the organizationn of the competition in January. And Migné is part of them.

Talking to On Time Sports 2 TV, former Kenya coach said it bwill be better to hold next AFCON in January.

“It’s better if the tournament takes place in January starting next year and when flights resume normally we will be able to continue the qualifiers” he said.

Guinea coach Didier Six also said 2021 AFCON should be kept as initially planned.
