The resumption of the Egyptian Premier League has lead in the wing. Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek, does not approve of the decision from government officials.

After the announcement of the resumption of national competitions in Egypt was made, Zamalek quickly emerged from silence. Through its president, the Cairo club displays its disapproval and is open to a final decision. Which is going to crown his biggest rival Al Ahly.

“With all due respect, I am very surprised at the minister’s announcement. We are not sheep. It’s up to us, the presidents, to decide. It is a government intervention that we reject […] The Egyptian Premier League will not resume. 14 clubs are against the restart, we will not be playing because of one or two teams, “he said on the club’s TV channel.

“I have no problem crowning Al-Ahly champion if the rules say so,” he concluded.

Mortada Mansour gave his opinion on the situation. It remains to know the final decision to be taken by the Federation (EFA).
