Liverpool already crowned champion but will have to cntinue without Cameroonian central defender, Joël Matip.
The Mersey club announced the bad news this Tuesday morning on its website. Joël Matip, injured to a toe on 21 June against Everton, will have his season ended.
“I won’t be back on the field this season,” Matip said on the site of the new England champions. “Next season, I hope I can soon enough help the team.”
While starting last season, playing in the Champions League final won against Tottenham, Joël Matip experienced a 2019/2020 exercise disrupted by a knee injury, which kept him off the field between late October and mid-January. The Cameroonian has 13 appearances in all competitions this season, including nine in the Premier League.
