Nigerian Players abroad Iheanacho Scores Again As Vardy Stole The Show For Leicester

Kelechi Iheanacho’s second-half opener got Leicester City on a roller coaster to pick their first league win against  Crystal Palace at King Power Stadium.

Iheanacho who came off the bench and scored for Leicester in their 2-1 loss to Everton, found the net again as Leicester defeated Crystal Palace 3-0.

Following his impressive performance against Everton, he was in the starting XI for Brendan Rodgers who made two changes to the team that loss at Goodison Park.

The former Manchester City player almost got the Foxes off to a flyer in the 13th minute 

Marc Albrighton played in a cross but Iheanacho”s header went wide as the hosts dominated possessions from the start.

 His compatriot Wilfred Ndidi’s was the next to have a clear cut chance but his point-blank header was saved by Guaita before Pérez’s powerful effort on the rebound was also deflected behind.

Despite several attempts to go front, Leicester could not make them count heading for the half time break.

The second half resumed with more intensity than the first and within four minutes of the restart, Leicester went ahead through Iheanacho.

An assist from Youri Tielemans who sent an inviting ball across the area, saw the Super Eagles forward slot home for his 10th goal in all competitions this term.

He was substituted from the game in the 64th minute by Dennis Praet in a tactical substitution by Rodgers.

With Iheanacho out of the game, Jamie Vardy stole the show as he scored brace and become the first Leicester City to player to reach 100th Premier League goal milestone.

Jamie Vardy received an award from Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers for becoming the first player to reach 100 Premier League goals.

The ex-England international scored in the 77th minute thanks to an assist from substitute, Harvey Barnes.

With few seconds to end the game the former Fleetwood forward scored his 101 league with Barnes again assisting him.

It was Leicester’s first post-COVID-19 win since the league restart.

They remain third on the log with their dream of a Champions League ticket next season on the right track.
