Nigeria forward Henry Onyekuru has penned down an emotional farewell message to Turkish League giants Galatasaray after the end of his loan spell.
Onyekuru has returned to French Ligue 1 side Monaco to begin preparations with his teammate ahead of next season campaign.
Monaco rejected an offer from Galatasaray to extend Onyekuru’s loan deal until the end of the season.
The Turkey Super Lig was suspended March 19 due to COVID-19 and resumed June 12 behind closed-door in effort to complete the season.
The 23-year-old joined Galatasaray on a six-month loan deal after he failed to make an impact in his first season in the France top-flight division.
Onyekuru thanked the club and it’s supporters for the opportunity they gave to him.
He however, regretted not to have been able to say thank you to the supporters inside the stadium due to COVID-19.
“I can’t thank @galatasaray enough for the love during my second spell at the club,” Onyekuru wrote on Instagram.
“What makes this difficult is that I couldn’t experience my final days with the supporters who have shown me so much love and made me feel at home since the first time I came here.
“You are forever in my heart and I will forever be a ‘gala’. Until we meet again…Cimbon!”
Onyekuru Emotional Message To Galatasaray
Having failed to secure a work permit in the UK to play for Everton, Onyekuru joined Monaco signing a five-year deal which was worth £12-£15m.
Onyekuru joined Monaco following a stellar season with Galatasaray in 2019 but failed to replicate his brilliant performance making just four appearances.
His return to Turkey saw him scored just once in 10 appearances for the Super Lig champions.
