Ghana CK Akonnor deserves his Black Stars coaching job – Anthony Anan

Ghana international midfielder Anthony Anan says CK Akonnor deserves his appointment as head coach of Ghana national football team.

Talking to Akoma FM, Anan confessed he knows few about former Ashantigold manager. However, he is sure that his appointment is a result of confidence Ghanaian have on him.

“I don’t really know much about coach CK but I heard he coached some big clubs in Ghana. Moreover when I heard about his appointment, I knew Ghanaians saw some qualities in him.” Anan said.

Moreover, former Osasuna player insisted on the fact that naming Charles Akonnor as boss of the national team, was not a random choice by Ghana authorities. He then call for the support of all as they did to Kwesi Appiah.

“The authorities cannot appoint just anybody to handle the Black Stars so I think he deserves the post.

“We have to give him all the support he deserves to succeed with the Black Stars as he was a former player and knows the national team.

“Just like we supported Kwesi Appiah when he was appointed, we must do our best to support C K Akonnor as well,” he concluded.

Anthony Anan has 62 caps with Ghana Black Stars. Curently playing for Finland side Inter Turku, he is still dreaming of rewearing Black Stars’ outfit, even though he is 33.

CK Akonnor trained Ghana clubs the likes of Asante Kotoko, Ashantigold, Sekondi Wise Fighters and Heart of Oak.
