Africa Couloumba Sogoré : Malian signs her first professional contract

Couloumba Sogoré, the Malian international has just signed her first professional contract with the AJ Auxerre (AJA), French D2 club.

Couloumba Sogoré is committed to the AJ Auxerre for two years. She arrived in Burgundy in February 2019 for a test that lasted more than a year. She has been already playing under the colors of AJA. But the Malian is officially linked to the French club only last week. A beautiful reward after expecting for one year and a half.

The 23-year-old former player of the Real of Bamako expressed her satisfaction after signing this first pro contract.

I am happy after signing this first professional contract. I thank God and sincerely thank my family, who always supports me. I neither forget my heart club, Real which gave me everything and made of me what I am today. Signing this contract is a challenge for me. I will redouble my efforts every day to be at the top of the challenge.” said Sogoré.

My first target is to win at Auxerre, then there are timelines with the national selection. We finished 4th in the last AFCON,” she added.

Couloumba Sogoré aims at fulfilling her biggest dream (winning the women’s AFCON with the selection) this year. But she will have to wait until 2022.

My biggest dream is to bring the African Cup to my country. I was counting on it this year. But we still have to wait until 2022. Because the CAF decided to cancel the 2020 Women’s AFCON. It’s a big shock for all players, we eagerly await this AFCON,” concluded Couloumba.
