Didier Drogba’s ambition to run for FIF (Ivorian Football Federation) presidency should not even go further till application.

According to the information collected yesterday, the Association of Football Doctors, the last interest group to grant its sponsorship has chosen. But not Chelsea’s former goal scorer. The Doctors would have decided to trust Sory Diabaté for the FIF chair.

An announcement that marks the end of Drogba’s ambitions. Because any pretender to the FIF must be able to benefit from a sponsorship of an Interest Group. But until then, whether it is the former players, the referees, the coaches and even the AFI of which he is a vice-president, all have snubbed him.

The challenge for the FIF presidency should therefore be between Idriss Diallo and Sory Diabaté.
