In a statement, the Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) denounces CAF’s double standards. As the continental organization cancelled champions league final 4 to play it in initial format.
The Egyptian FA denounce the announcement of a return to the original format of the semi-finals with the Confederation Cup having its Final 4. After Cameroon’s withdrawal, only Egypt officially came forward to host the remaining of the tournament.
However, being faced with many criticisms, CAF intends to reverse its decision and play semi-finals in round trip.
Moreover, EFA does not understand why Morocco is chosen to host Final 4 of the Confederation Cup with two more clubs in competition. While Egypt would not have this right (also with two clubs) in the Champions League.
