Nigeria Rangers Donates N20m Insurance Policy Cheque To Late Ifeanyi Family

Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) side, Rangers International has presented a cheque of N20m to the family of late forward, Ifeanyi George.


The event was held on Tuesday at the club house in Enugu with players, officials of Rangers International and family of the Late George in attendance.


Rangers International FC presented the insurance policy cheque to the elder brother of the deceased player, Sonny Onwubiko.

The family received N10m while Ifeanyi’s daughter was presented with a cheque of N8m in trust fund for her education.


Also, the deceased widow received N2m for the upkeep of the girl.


Speaking on behalf of the family, Ifeanyi elder brother Onwubiko thanked the club for the donation.


George and teammate Emmanuel Ogbu were killed in a car accident on March 22, along the Benin-Agbor Expressway in Delta State, while on their way to Lagos after the domestic league was suspended due to COVID-19.

In honour of the player, the club have decided to retire his number 15 jersey for next season.
