Algerian Ligue 1 clubs want their country’s top-tier to hold 20 clubs from next season as a result of a consultation launched by Algerian FA recently.
Almost 90% of the clubs which voted on the FAF’s proposals plead for a Ligue 1 with 20 clubs. For the current season, they are for non-resumption of league. However, they want a champion and no relegations.
On the other hand, clubs ask the federation to set up lower division clubs.
This means that the 2020/2021 season will be made up of 20 clubs and will have 38 league days, which has not happened since the 1986/1987 season.
The FAF (Algerian Football Federation) Executive Committee will look into the subject in the coming days.
