Crystal Palace Jordan Ayew dedicated his triple awards to “more than father” Pape Diouf

Jordan Ayew grabbed three Crystal Palace end of season awards Tuesday night. And Ghana international dedicated these amazing trophies to late Marseille Chairman Pape Diouf.

The 28-year-old made 37 Premier League appearances scoring 9 goals this season. Despite having a complicated end of season, his stunning displays helped a lot Eagles all along the season.

Tuesday night, the Black Stars was rewarded for this incredible season. An occasion to thank fans and everyone in South London side.

“I’m lost of words, It’s really a big moment for me. I’ve worked so hard to get into the team. I think the first season that I came in this team wasn’t the best but the club wanted me to stay and I wanted to stay as well. So I had the desire to do a better season and things have just gone well that I’m just grateful,” Ayew said.

“I would like to thank everyone in the club, the fans especially for they’ve been massive for us this season, especially for me. I would like to think all the people that supported me in these difficult moments I had in my football career.” ex-Swansea striker added.

Pape Diouf passed away on March 31 at 69.

Moreover, former Marseille forward paid an emotional tribute to ex-Marseille Chairman Pape Diouf, who passed away on, March 31 at Dakar (Senegal) from Covid-19.

In fact, Diouf played an important role in Jordan and Andre Ayew’s careers. And Jordan could not forget this at the time he was crowned with three awards.

“When I have this kind of throphy, I just think about fans, my family. Obviously a man that have been so influential in my football career that is Pape Diouf. Unfortunately I lost him during the period of Covid-19. I wish I could present him this trophy but unfortunately he passed away. He was so influential in my football career. He was the one who opened me the doors to start in football” Ayew regretted.

“He was more than a father so I would like to thank him very very much. Because if it wasn’t for him, I won’t be where I am today. So that is the message I have for him.” he added.
