Cameroon Samuel Eto’o reveals how Lyon inspired him to become footballer

Cameroon star and Africa legend Samuel Eto’o revealed how Frenc Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais and Indomitable lions legend Roger Milla inspired him in playing football.

Before reaching the level he has today, Eto’o like many other players in the beginning, has had models of clubs and players.

Samuel Eto’o marked the history of African football. Winner of African Player of the Year 4 times and several trophies both in club and in selection, the former FC Barcelona striker has left an indelible mark. Before experiencing such success, he let it be known that he fell in love with this discipline thanks to the French club and the Cameroonian legend Milla.

“ My love for football started with OL… and Roger Milla’s dance. From there was born my attachment for Cameroon, which Samuel Eto’o brought to its climax. A real monster, ” Eto’o said.

Trained at Kadji Sports Academy in Cameroon, Eto’o discovered Europe with Real Madrid. He later knew several clubs including Inter Milan, Chelsea. On September 7, 2019, the native of Douala bowed out.
