Egyptian Football Association (EFA), decided that Haras El Hodoud vs Al Masry game of the 18th Egyptian Premier League matchday will not be postponed, despite 16 COVID-19 positive cases in Al Masry team.

Al Masry confirmed on Sunday 12 positive cases of coronavirus inside the club with 4 members of the administrative body to make it 16. While the Port Said side are expecting a postponement of this encounter, Egyptian FA decided to hold it.

Indeed, Egyptian FA revealed that Al Masry will undergo additional covid-19 tests. So that the game can be played.

“The EFA decided to allow Al Masry to undergo PCR tests for players who had not taken previous tests to give the team’s technical staff the opportunity to compensate for the absence of the diagnosed ones,” EFA said as reported by KingFut.

Moreover, the football association denounces the failure of Al Masry officials in respecting sanitary measures as enacted by authorities.

“The matches will take place as stated in the announced schedule because the large number of positive test results at one club was the result of a failure to follow the necessary precautionary measures.” EFA added.

The match is planned for Monday afternoon at 2 pm.
