Ghana Premier League Asamoah Gyan : Ghanaian legend could relaunch his career at Kotoko

Asamoah Gyan would be on the verge of joining Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko, a club for which he shew much admiration in the past.

According to reports of GhanaWeb, Asamoah Gyan could play for a club of his home country.

The Ghanaian outlet reported that Gyan’s manager Samuel Anim Addo said the 34-year-old striker is opened up for a move a Ghanaian top-flight side.

However, both sides should reach an agreement before former Al Ain talisman can play for the club.

“Kotoko have said they like him because he once stated that he’ll one day play for Kotoko, but for now no club has approached him with any offer,” Samuel Anim Addo said.

“Gyan has had offers from Europe and Asia but if Kotoko can meet our terms, then why not?” he questioned.

Gyan’s arrival to Asante Kotoko is highly waited. As the porcupine warriors’ defender Habib Mohammed said he will be happy seeing the legendary forward joining the club.

“I will be very happy if I see Asamoah Gyan join Kotoko because he will help the team in terms of experience,” Habib told Sunyani-based Edwumapa FM 98.9, per Ghanasoccernet.

“The players will also be proud of playing with [former] Black Stars captain.”

As a reminder, the 34-year-old is a free agent. As he left Indian top-tier side North East United in January.

However, rumors raised up in July sending him to Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla. But the club denied the news as they show no interest in landing him.

In addition, Asamoah Gyan is the top scorer of Ghana Black Stars with 51 strikes.
