Transfer window Giannelli Imbula could back to French top-flight Ligue 1

Giannelli Imbula

Giannelli Imbula could back in the world of football as former Marseille striker is eyeing a return back to French top-flight Ligue 1.

Currently without a club since the end of his loan at FC Sochi in Russia, Giannelli Imbula is announced for Turkey, Spain and France. Indeed, the Congolese international comes out of a failed freelance in Sochi, which he joined last winter and where he only played one match. Without a contract, the Leopards’ midfielder trains in Marseille, as Foot Mercato explains, and would be in the sights of 3 Ligue 1 clubs.

Giannelli Imbula left France in 2015 after two seasons at OM, which had recruited him from En Avant Guingamp. Sold to FC Porto for 20 ME, the midfielder failed to take off, finding himself in Stoke City for a new transfer, then in Toulouse, Rayo Vallecano and Lecce in the form of loans.

After a short freelance in Sochi at the end of his contract in England, the former de Guingamp surveyed Europe without succeeding in relaunching himself. Here he is now without a club at 27.
