Abdul Ebrahim

South African Football Association‘s head of referees Abdul Ebrahim has praised the performance of match officials who did well since competition resumption in SA.

South African first tier (Premier Soccer League) and Second tier (National First Division) resumed both early August. With competitions closed to ending, SAFA’s head of referees Abdul Ebrahim saluted the work of match officials.

“Here and there, you would find errors but to err is only human especially in the sporting environment. There is nowhere in the world where you would get a situation which has no mistakes,’’  Ebrahim told SAFA.net

‘’That said, I think the match officials did the country and the Association proud. Coming from a 5-month lay-off and to perform the way they did, I can only say well done to the officials” he added.

“The match officials have no time to put their feet up. Once this season comes to an end, the new one begins almost immediately and that means all officials have to maintain their high fitness levels all the time,” Abdul Ebrahim concluded.
