Tanzanian Premier League Barbara Gonzalez appointed new CEO of Tanzania giants Simba Sports

Barbara Gonzalez makes history this Sunday, September 5, 2020 in Tanzania. As she became the first ever woman to be appointed Chief Executive Officer of Simba following Senzo Mbatha’s switch to Young Africans.

Simba Sports Club announced earlier on Sunday, the appointment since Saturday, of Barbara Gonzalez as the new CEO of Lions.

“Simba Sports Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Barbara Gonzalez as the new CEO of our Club effective 5 September 2020.” Tanzania defending champions wrote on Twitter.

“Simba’s Board is delighted that she has accepted this new role. We are confident that her passion for football, her knowledge of Simba’s inner workings, and her relationships with key Simba stakeholders will help her help our club reach greater heights. We wish her well.” the club added.

Following her appointment, Gonzalez said she knows the club expectations and will give all to secure them good results. As the club wants to be one of the greatest in Africa.

“I understand that a huge task awaits me here. The club is growing and our main task is to make Simba one of the biggest teams in Africa. I am embracing this challenge and I look forward to positive results,” She said, per Cafonline.

In addition, Simba SC have won their first league game this afternoon as they defeated Ihefu FC to 2-1 with a goal of Lions Captain John Bocco. Whereas Mzamiru scored the second goal.
