Nigeria Dogo Takes Over From Ogunbote As Lobi Stars Head Coach

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club Lobi Stars has signed Kabiru Dogo to take over from Gbenga Ogunbote ahead of next season.


Dogo who was Sunshine Stars coach last season is expected to lead the 2018/2019 NPFL champions back to their rightful position.


Ogunbote left Lobi Stars at the expiration of his contract after joining the club from Rangers at the beginning of the 2019/2020 season.


In the same vein, Dogo will be switching club with Ogunbote after his contract expired also with Sunshine Stars.

The former Nasarawa United coach signed for the Owena Whales in 2018.


However, after having talks with the Osun State government, he decided not to remain with them.

Last week, he bid the club farewell and said he wants to gain more experience from other clubs.

“It’s been a great privilege and opportunity working with the Ondo State Government, through the management of Sunshine Stars.

“My contract with Sunshine Stars of Akure expired last season 2019/2020 and I am ready to work elsewhere in other to gain more experience and get exposure

 Sunshine Stars finished ninth last season with 34 points from 25 games.

The 2020/2021 NPFL date has not been fixed despite the lifting of ban in sports activities last week under strict observance of COVID-19 protocols .
