Senegal has been granted the green light as the host country of the 2020 AFCON Beach Soccer as they were the only candidate so far.

Senegal had been a candidate for a few weeks. The tournament initially attributed to Uganda was looking for a host country since the withdrawal of the East African nation .

The tournament will host 8 teams. And the finalists will represent Africa at the 2021 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Russia .

In addition, Senegal is the reigning African champion after the success over Nigeria in Egypt in 2018 .
