Southampton went into the game on the back of their history against Palace.

They have won their last three away Premier League visits to Crystal Palace without conceding a single goal.

The Saints immediately began to show the flashes of repeating history with an impressive start to the game.

They almost scored in the  first 10 minutes of the game with Jack Stephen effort which went out.

But Zaha was the one who got the bragging right when he connected perfectly with Andros Townsend cross to score in the 13th minute.

Southampton tried all they could to respond back on several occasions but the brilliance of Palace goalkeepr, Guaita kept the home team lead.

Nathan Redmond was first denied a clear chance by Guaita before he made another impressive save from a Che Adam’s volley in the 53 minutes.

On the brink of stoppage time, Danny Ings thought he had equalizer for the Saints but Guaita was on call to ensure Palace don’t share the spoils.

Crystal Palace next game will be against Manchester United at Old Trafford while Southampton will hosts Tottenham.
