Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur will start their 2020/21 Premier League campaign at home as they take on Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton at 3:30 PM.
Both Mourinho and Ancelotti have the chance to take charge of their clubs for a whole season as they all joined Tottenham and Everton as mid-season coaches.
Jose Mourinho who has managed to lift Spurs from the fourteen place in the PL standings to a sixth-place finished at the end of season, eyes a relevant season with the London side in this new campaign.
As they spent less in the summer transfer window, Spurs are expected to start new season with their key elements the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Dele Alli, Lucas Moura and obviously France shot-stopper Hugo Lloris in the net.
However, Japhet Tanaganga will miss this clash due to a thigh injury. Argentine’s midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will also watch his teammates play following hamstring problem as revealed by Spurs’ official website.
On the other, Everton with their three major summer signings including James former Real Madrid and Bayern Munich star James Rodriguez, are all expected to make their debut for the Toffees.
“They are all in good condition and I am happy they have no problems,” Everton Boss Carlo Ancelotti told evertonfc.com
“They have trained all week and are ready to play.
“I don’t know if they are able to play 90 minutes – or if they are going to start – but they are available.
“Allan and Doucoure were training at their clubs before coming here, so were already in good shape physically.
“James started to fully train this week but he is fit.”
