Egyptian Premier League Patrice Carteron appointed head coach of Saudi side Al Taawon

Patrice Carteron

French coach Patrice Carteron has reportedly taken over Al Taawon’s coaching job (a Saudi Professional League side) after having terminated his contract with Egyptian Premier League side Zamalek SC.

No one has linked Patrice Carteron to a move from Zamalek so early. For the 50-year-old French tactician extended his contract with Cairo giants in June and was happy that and even promised fans to achieve more trophies.

However, former Al Ahly manager did an about-face and left the EPL side and joined Saudi Professional League side Al Taawon on Wednesday, 16th September 2020. KingFut reports.

During his time with Mortada Mansour’s club, Carteron inspired Zamalek to clinch Egyptian Super Cup title and CAF ones.

In addition, he is expected to lead his first game at his new home against Perspolis on Friday in the fourth round of the AFC Champions league (Asia).
