UK born and Brighton Albion right-back of Ghanaian descent Tariq Lamptey has opened up about his international career as he is yet to make his decision.
He is just 19. But Tariq Lamptey is grabbing praises from all over England and even Europe for his incredible performances with Premier League side Brighton Albion.
His versatility drops a crowd of contenders that want to acquire his services. He featured for England’s U18s, U19s and U20s, and is currently playing with the U21s.
However, he is yet to make his international debut with the Three Lions. Lamptey said he has not made a decision on his international future yet.
“No. I’m still young so I’m just looking forward to the next game and keep playing as well as possible.
“Whatever comes next, we’ll see.” Tariq Lamptey told The Sun.
He also replied negatively to the question of playing for Ghana’s Blcak Stars before adding this.
“At the moment I’m just focused on Brighton and playing as many games as possible, keep training as hard as possible, keep playing well and keep a consistent level.
“At the end of the day, the harder I work and the more games I get in are the most important things for my development.
“What happens in the future on the international side, we’ll have to wait and see.”
