Ghana CK Akonnor can lead Ghana to win AFCON – Sports Min. Isaac Asiamah

Ghana’s Youth and Sports Minister Hon. Isaac Asiamah has urged Ghanaians to all support Black Stars coach CK Akonnor as he believes the latter can bring back Africa Cup of Nations trophy for the country.

It’s 38 years since Ghana have not won AFCON trophy. That is their last coronation was in 1982 tournament. So far, the country though, have reached finals with the last one lost to Côte d’Ivoire in 2015, is still looking for the prestigious silverware.

According to Ghana’s Sports Minister hon. Isaac Asiamah, Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor can win the trophy with the national team. As the four AFCON trophies Ghana won have all been claimed by local coaches.

“Let’s support him and I know he will not let the country down.”

“I have no doubt Akonnor can lead us to win the Africa Cup of Nations. He has played at the highest level.

“He has captained the Black Stars and I believe with the necessary support, he can win the Afcon. I have no doubt about that,” Sports Minister added.
