Ghana Football Association confirmed later on Wednesday that Qatar will be the second opponent of Black Stars after Mali in October friendlies.
Rumors grew up linking Madagascar to a friendly game against Ghana in October as Equatorial Guinea pulled out due to travelling restrictions imposed in the country. However, it will be Qatar rather than the East Africa nation.
Ghana will play Mali on October 9 and three days later, that is October 12, Qatar in preparations of November double header against Sudan for Africa Cup of Nations qualifications.
C.K. Akonnor will lead his first game with Ghana since his appointment in January as a result of James Kwesi Appiah’s departure.
