Arsenal have secured the services of Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey. It’s a big achievement for London club.

The Gunners formalized the signing of Ghanaian midfielder on Monday in the last moments of the transfer window. To snatch the player from the Colchoneros, Arsenal management paid the amount of €50 million as release clause. A deserved amount for a player of this size.

This transfer amount makes of the Ghanaian the 2nd most expensive African in this transfer window behind Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. The latter who moved from Lille to Napoli for €70 million (excluding bonus). Partey is however ahead of Moroccans Achraf Hakimi (Inter) and Hakim Ziyech (Chelsea ), whose transfer amounted to €40 M.
