Africa Soccer Togo completed 2nd training session, Ayite, Henen to join camp today

Togolese national team completed their second training session on Monday ahead of friendly game against Libya on Thursday with other players to join the group on Tuesday, October 6, 2020.

As many other national teams, Claude Leroy’s Togo will also play friendlies in this international break. “Eperviers” made their first training on Sunday which was mostly dominated by local-based players in Tunis (Tunisia) where they camped.

On Monday, German-born striker of Togolese mother playing for Bundesliga II side Osnabrück, Etienne Amenyido who was handed his first call-up by French manager joined the team. Mawouna Amevor (Eindhoven FC, Holland second tier), Serge Seko of S.C Shebba and S.C SXafien’s Hubert Donou also took part in Monday’s session.

The team’s communication board announced later on Monday that Genclerbirligi striker Floyd Ayite and new Grenoble winger David Henen will both join the group this Tuesday. However, Peniel Mlapa can not join the national team due to some travelling issues related to Covid-19 with his club Union Kalba.

In addition, Togo will face Les Faucons du Jeddah (Tunisian top-flight side) on October 9 before taking on Sudan three days later. These game will help Claude Leroy and his men to get fit for November’s double header against Egypt’s Pharaohs for the third and fourth matchday of 2022 Africa Cup of Nations’ qualifications.
