Africa Soccer Desportivo Faces Expulsion From Mocambola League

Mozambique six-time league champions, Desportivo Maputo, are reportedly at risk of facing expulsion from Mocambola League for allegedly failing to meet Club Licencing requirements.

Mozambique publication, Opias, reports that The Appeal Body of Club Licensing Commission of the Mozambican Football Federation declared that the Maputo giants failed to tick all the boxes for the licence.

The report cites the absence of a coach following the resignation of Dario Monteiro and debts owed to some players as among the reasons.

Even if the appeal had been filed within the deadline, the lack of presentation of the documents and information mentioned above prevents the present appeal from being deferred.

“Thus, in accordance with the provisions of article 8 of the RLC, the AO decides to maintain the decision to reject the licensing of the GDM,” reads the appeal body’s declaration.

The club was established in 1921.
