CAF Champions League CAF Champions League : New Date For Zamalek – Raja Semifinal Second Leg

The CAF (African Football Confederation) officially announced this Thursday the date of the Champions League semifinal second leg game between Zamalek and Raja Club Athletic.

The meeting originally scheduled for 24 October has been postponed. This follows many Covid-19 positive cases within the Moroccan club. On Tuesday, the Casablanca club was unable to travel to Cairo. Local authorities forbidding all travel and recommending quarantine to the club.

New PCR tests apply on 27 October. Thus the second leg match between Zamalek and Raja could take place on 1 November. The Green Eagle must overcome a handicap as they conceded a goal during the first leg.

Moreover, this change does not upset the calendar in any way. The CAF says that the other semifinal second leg between Al Ahly and Wydad will well play on 23 October. (2-0 for the National on the first leg). Just like the final of the competition to take place 6 November will not change.
