Africa Soccer Mbulu Happy To Rediscover Scoring Form For Baroka FC

Baroka FC striker Richard Mbulu has said he is relieved to have rediscovered his scoring form in DStv Premiership in South Africa.

He was speaking after scoring twice to help Baroka beat rivals Black Leopards 3-1 in a Limpopo derby played on Tuesday evening.

Evidence Makgopa scored the second goal for Baroka after Mbulu had given Baroka the opener before adding the third.

Mfanafuthi Shozi scored an own goal to gift Leopards a consolation.

I thank God for giving me the two goals and also my friends, my cousin Gerald Phiri and my family who were pushing me to work hard because last season I was struggling.

“Before the game, the coach told me to play the way I know and that I will get the chances,” he said.

Last season, Mbulu played some 29 games without scoring for Baroka.

Now, the Malawian international has had a dream start to the season, scoring three goals in two opening matches.

He is now the leading scorer in the league for the table-topping Baroka.

Mbulu signed for Baroka from Costa do Sol of Mozambique last season.

Mbulu is thriving under caretaker coach Matsemela Thoka following the suspension of Dylan Kerr at Baroka.
