Africa Soccer Fifa gives Angola FA deadline to clear electoral complaints

Fifa has reportedly given Angola Football Federation (FAF) a deadline of Friday to iron out irregularities which some candidates for the forthcoming elections have reported to the world football governing body.

Presidential candidate Norberto de Castro has lodged a complaint to the Ethics Committee of Fifa, citing irregularities in the build up to the November 14 2020 elections.

Castro attached documents as evidence to prove his allegations after the Electoral Commission declared his candidature ineligible.

In response, Fifa has ordered FAF under the leadership of Artur Almeida e Silva to respond to such allegations that he was interfering in the electoral process.

Castro’s representative, Adão Simão, confirmed in an interview with Angola News Agency that they lodged the complaint to Fifa.

“Fifa has a code of ethics, and, based on this code, people accused of corruption and punished, as in the cases of Artur Almeida and Bernardo Suca, cannot run for election,” Simão is quoted as saying.
