Ahead of the new Ghana Premier League (GPL), Legon Cities FC announced the signing of Michael Ampadu from Liberty Professionals. The defender has joined The Royals on a three-year deal.

His brilliant and impressive performance earned him a call-up to the Black Meteors which he featured in the 2020 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ampadu scored 1 goal in his 14 league appearances for Liberty Professionals before the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season stopped. A suspension due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Legon Cities will begin their 2020/21 campaign with a home game against Berekum Chelsea.
