Ghana Stephen Adjei Doesn’t Want To Admit Their 6-1 loss to Asante Kotoko

A pre-season friendly match took place between Achiken FCand Asante Kotoko this Thursday morning. The lower-tier club lost 6-1 to the Premier League giants at the Adako Jachie grounds.

Speaking to Ashh FM in an interview after the match, Achiken FC head coach Stephen Adjei has stressed that his team only lost by the huge goal margin because they have not been training.

No team has scored me six goals in my professional coaching career. Kotoko has done that. We have not trained since the breakout of the Covid-19 pandemic. Because we did not have access to our players. So before the match this morning we called each player from their various homes, gathered them to play the game.

“If not for the Covid-19 pandemic there is no way they would have scored us six goals. Even though they would have scored us but it will not be up to six goals.” The coach noted.

Kotoko’s win today means that the team has 3 wins and 1 draw from pre-season friendly matches they have played.
