Nigeria Rohr replaces injured Onyeka with Shehu as some players arrive Nigeria

Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi has been called up to replace injured Frank Onyeka for the Africa Cup of Nations double header against Sierra Leone.

 
Africatopsport.com learnt via a tweet made available on the Super Eagles official Twitter handle on Monday morning.
 
The tweet read as follow;
 
 camp update: @OfficialShehu replaces injured Frank Onyeka for the AFCON 2022 qualifier against Sierra Leone #SoarSuperEagles #Team9jaStrong.”
 
 
 
 
Onyeka was reported to have picked up an injury after playing full time in Midtjylland 4-0 win against Kiebenhavn in the Danish League on Sunday.
 
Shehu last played for the Super Eagles at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia but since has fall from the pecking order.
 
The Omonia Nicosia defender now have an opportunity to get fight for the right back jersey.
 
In the another development, some invited players have arrived Nigeria ahead as the Super Eagles camp opens today.

 

Africa Top Sports learnt from a tweet on Godwin Enakhena official Twitter handle that some players are already in town.
 
 
 
Some of the players who are already in town are Kelechi Iheanacho, Maduka Okoye, Paul Onuachu and Ahmed Musa.
 
Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr is expected to arrive Benin City latest today.
