Africa Augustin Senghor Would Be Candidate In The Next CAF Elections

The president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Augustin Senghor, would be a candidate in the next CAF elections. The information is provided by local sources. Sources indicating that the head of the governing body of Senegalese football would have sent an emissary to the CAF headquarters in Egypt to file his candidacy.

The application is pending the official approval of Macky Sall, Senegalese President. He who is currently on travel in France.

Sources also indicate that Senghor’s candidacy does not arise from his personal conviction. But from the outgoing CAF President, Ahmad Ahmad. The latter would be in search of a substitute. Augustin Senghor could succeed him after his much probable disqualification by the FIFA Ethics Commission.

Ahmad Ahmad will face Ivorian Jacques Anouma, South African Patrice Motsepe and Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya, also in the running.
