Ghana coach CK Akonnor has heaped praises on Alexander Djiku who formed an inflexible defence alongside John Boye in the last two games Black Stars played against Sudan.
Racing Club Strasbourg defender Alexander Djiku caught the eyes of Black Stars manager Charles Akonnor who hailed his performances at the back though he is a new boy in Ghana national team.
Djiku, 26, was handed his first call-up in October during the international break. And the French-born centre-back did so well that Akonnor called him back for Sudan’s double-header.
He performed well in the 2-0 against Sudanese in Cape Coast and was also outstanding though Black Stars lost 1-0 in the second leg.
“Djiku has been outstanding at the back and I’m happy that he has done so well,” C.K Akonnor in a post match reaction, per Ghanasoccernet.
“I was even surprised because of the heat
“This is someone when was born in Europe but you didn’t really see much of him struggling until he picked up the injury.” he added.
