Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi is confident Al Ahly will win the CAF Champions League title as they take on Zamalek in the final on Friday, November 27 (7pm).
Ajayi played a major role in Al Ahly’s dazzling Egyptian Premier League title win and also in the continental competitions.
The 24-year-old scored 11 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions with the most titled-club in Africa this season.
Speaking to FIFA.com, on the rivalry between Zamalek and Ahly, he said Pitso Mosimane’s side will give their best to clinch the highly-coveted silverware.
Even though Zamalek are among the toughest clubs he ever played against.
“We’re very happy we won the league, which gives us confidence ahead of the coming games,” Junior Ajayi said.
“We’re only focused on the continental title and will do our best to claim it.
“I expect a good game from both sides. The two teams know each other very well, and Zamalek are among the toughest teams I’ve faced. I’ve lost two finals against them and it wasn’t a good feeling.
“I love to play in big games because it highlights your capabilities as a player. I’ve been lucky in scoring against big teams, and I feel very happy when I do this.
“I want to score more goals and hope to win the Champions League, because it’s the only title I still haven’t managed. I hope we can do it because our fans love this tournament so much,” he added.
