Lilongwe giants, Silver Strikers, have received a boost ahead of the TNM Super League kick off this weekend.
Silver have been boosted by the return to training of key players—Chikondi Kamanga, Patrick Macheso and Foster Bitoni.
On their website, Silver say the players joined training on Tuesday when the team regrouped at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe.
The Bankers, as Silver are called, are preparing for the Lilongwe derby at Civo Stadium against bitter rivals Civil Service United on Sunday. It will be a debut for Silver’s Zambia coach Dan Kabwe.
“The team did not train on Monday after participating in the two-day Lilongwe Soccer Fest over the weekend where they played against Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday and Civil Service United on Sunday.
“All players reported for training with a timely boost of Chikondi Kamanga, Patrick Macheso and Foster Bitoni who did not play last weekend due to injury but have been cleared and returned to team training today,” the website reports.
Silver are still without Hadji Wali, Phillip Banda, Maxwell Paipi, Innocent Shema, Chinsisi Maonga, Zebron Kalima and Frank Chizuze who are with the under-20 national team.
