Newly-crowned 2020 CAF Champions League champions, Ahly have released three players from their 2020/21 squad.

Ahly submitted the squad list on November 30 2020, barely three days after they beat Zamalek 2-1 to win the continental title in Cairo.

“Al Ahly sent the team’s preliminary squad list for the 2020-21 season to the Egyptian Football Association.

“Our squad’s list, which was sent today, will not include Aliou Badji, Saleh Gomaa, and Ahmed El Sheikh,” reads the club’s statement.

With coach Pitso Mosimane switching his focus to Tuesday’s cup semi-final game against Al Ittihad Alexandria, Ahly have moved in quickly to shuffle the squad.
