Nigeria Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare has tasked the Flying Eagles to return with the WAFU title.

The Flying Eagles  are expected to depart Cotonou on Friday for the tournament.

Their first match will come be on Sunday and Mr Dare  competition in Cotonu which begins on Saturday.

Speaking during a visit to the team camp in Abuja, Mr Dare said he believes in the talented players.

“The Flying Eagles have always made us proud, go there and make Nigerians proud. 

“We believe you are young, talented and determined. Your coaches have impacted much on you, go there and come back victorious”

Nigeria will trade tackles against Cote d’ Ivoire on Sunday in their opening match.
