Africa Soccer CAFCC: Rivers United drown Futuro Kings to reach next round

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Rivers United have booked their place in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
 
Rivers United defeated Futuro Kings 2-0 on penalty shoot out after the second leg at the Port Harcourt Stadium ended 3-3.
 
The Nigeria representatives went into the game on the back of a 2-1 deficit from the first leg at Ethiopia.

Godwin Aguda scored in the 12th minute to make it 2-2 aggregate.
 
Rivers United completed the comeback through Kehinde Adedipe who scored in he 39th minute to take the aggregate to 3-2.
 
The NPFL side dominated possession and wasted most of their chances but headed to the first half break with 2-0 lead and 3-2.
 
The visitors returned back in the second half determine to get a goal and in the 52nd minute Asu Pedro scored for Futuro Kings against the run of play.
 
The goal brought the game to 3-3 aggregate putting Rivers United on pressure as the visitors began to use delays tactics to wind off the time.
 
The game went straight to penalty shoot out as captain of the day Ebenezer Kunle Odunlami won the game for Rivers United. 
 
They will now face South African side Bloem Celtic in the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
 
 
The winner of this round will progress to the playoff round while the losing team will exit the tournament.
